Welcome Fellow Golfers
NENSGA 2011! I like the sound of that. What does that mean? It means we had a successful 2010 season. It means 170 members joined the Northeast Nebraska Senior Golf Association in 2010. It means NENSGA organized 10 tournaments for the 2010 season. It means over $5000.00 in cash and certificates were awarded to members of NENSGA during the 2010 season. We played at Ponca, Hartington, Humphrey, Pender, Beemer, Norfolk Eldorado, Norfolk Fairplay, Wayne, Pierce, and Stanton. In our last tournament alone, held at Wayne Country Club, NENSGA members were awarded over $1450.00 in cash, certificates, and prizes. We played beautiful courses. We ate delicious meals. We crowned a Senior Champion, and we had a season filled with competition and fun. We met new friends and shook hands with fellow seniors we may have never had the opportunity to meet without NENSGA. Thank you to everyone who joined NENSGA and attended our tournaments, you are the reason for the successful season.
To all of you non-members out there, we, all 170 of us in the NORTHEAST NEBRASKA SENIOR GOLF ASSOCIATION would like to tell you something. THERE'S A NEW GAME IN TOWN AND IT'S CALLED NENSGA! NENSGA is in the planning stages of organizing 12 tournaments for the 2011 season. The golf courses are beating down our doors wanting to host our tournaments. All tournaments will have two man teams. Players will range in age from 50 to 80+ years of age. Skill levels will include scratch players up to 30+ handicappers. Neither the age or skill level should be a concern. The tournaments will be flighted to accommodate the difference in skill levels, and the tee boxes will be adjusted to accommodate the different age groups. The tournament entry fees are limited to no more that $40.00 for 9 hole courses, and $50.00 for 18 hole courses. Your tournament entry fee will pay for 18 holes of golf, a cart, a meal after the event, and cash payouts. Members will have a chance at tournament payouts in every flight, plus flag prizes. All tournaments will pay back a minimum of 30% of gross entry fees. You do not need a partner, come to our tournaments as a single and we will try to match you with a partner.
NENSGA'S goal is to provide fun tournaments for members and profitable events for the Host Clubs. We will also have a yearlong competition for the coveted "NENSGA SENIOR CUP", an award given to the senior golfer who accumulates the most points during the season. That senior golfer will have his name engraved on the "NENSGA SENIOR CUP" trophy and receive a cash award. Last year's cash award was $250.00. Equal points are awarded to players who finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the first, second, or third flights. More flights will be added when the number of players allows.
